Peaceable Kingdom Acorn Soup

What is it?

Squirrel has a soup to make. Use picture recipes, wooden ingredients and a little spoon to prepare a pretend meal together.

Why we like it

• Picture recipes give early counting a familiar purpose.
• Scooping, stirring and pretend cooking leave room for conversation.
• A grown-up can follow the child's pace and keep the play simple.

How to play

Choose a recipe card, find the pictured ingredients and count them into the pot one at a time. Use the spoon to stir, then serve your imaginary soup or try another recipe.
